A museum for everyone – for us, this also means ensuring a valuable and artistic future for the generations to come. We want to contribute to fostering a mindful and sustainable relationship with our world!
An internationally acclaimed art museum for everyone – at the forefront of the times and for a diverse society.
Sustainability and social responsibility are deeply embedded in our museum. We preserve art treasures for future generations and encourage open dialogue on important issues with our visitors, staff, and partners. The focus on ecological and social sustainability is particularly important to us. As a public institution owned by the Province of Salzburg, we see it as our responsibility to take a leading role.
Our goal is to actively contribute to climate goals and protect our planet.
Therefore, we have decided to begin the process of obtaining the Austrian Environmental Label. As a team, we have conducted a comprehensive analysis of our sustainability practices as part of this process and have recognized that a fundamental shift in our approach is necessary to become more sustainable.
This means critically examining and changing established processes and habits throughout the museum. In new projects, we already ask about efficient resource use during the planning phase.
Our sustainability management is an ongoing process. While we have already achieved success, we are not at the end of our journey. We take a holistic approach to operating our museum and align our actions with clear goals and guidelines.
