On a digital art journey with our new app

Experience art in public space interactively!

The Museum der Moderne Salzburg is taking another important step in its digitization offensive. The offensive is being further developed in coordination with the state of Salzburg. At the same time, significant steps are being taken to improve accessibility and expand the museum's inclusive offerings:

The new digital guide in the MuseumStars app (for iOS and Android) provides a wide range of information and services. This guide includes in the first phase:

  • Introductions to art in public space
Not only in, but also at and around the Museum der Moderne Salzburg at both locations - Mönchsberg and Altstadt (Rupertinum) - there are works of art in public space. Short introductions to these are offered for various needs:
    • as texts in German, English and Easy Language German
    • via audio guide in German and English
    • in sign language
  • Digital art walks
The app guides users between the Mönchsberg and the Old Town (Rupertinum) and vice versa, allowing them to explore the artworks in public space.
  • User-friendly site plans and orientation aids
Floor plans of both locations help with orientation and show barrier-free paths.

After the "kick-off" with this content, the Museum der Moderne Salzburg is continuously expanding the guide. Special emphasis is always placed on the aspect of barrier-free design with the involvement of experts.

The app is available as a free download for iOS and Android
The project is made possible by funding within the framework of the digitalization offensive of the state of Salzburg.
