History
Initiated in 1986 by Oskar Boeckl, a prominent surgeon and medical researcher, together with the Rupertinum’s founding director Otto Breicha, the Circle of Friends and Patrons of the Museum der Moderne Salzburg established itself over the following years as a fixture on Salzburg’s cultural scene.
United by their interest in modern and contemporary art in general and the museum’s collection, the Austrian Federal Photography Collection, and the Generali Foundation Collection in particular, the members of the Circle of Friends and Patrons seek to engage like-minded audiences and promote the discourse on art.
